FROM COMMANDERY No. 2

Sir Knights:
The month of May in Sacramento is so beautiful. The flowers blooming, birds nesting, and people getting back to the hustle and bustle of things. We here in Sacramento Commandery No.2 are no different. Preparing our asylums for the upcoming conclaves, the various ritualistic works that must be re-visited before we begin to bring in new members.
And while the Grand Commander has set certain precautions in place, we too must take caution and ensure we are safe and ready to give the candidates the best experience possible. So, let’s crack open the ritual and help our Commandery where we can.
This is where we as Knights Templar should shine. Helping our fellow Knights and sharing our positive experiences to the craft that we love so much.
This month - because of our need to attend the Grand Sessions - I have decided to table our study session until next month. This will ease some of the transition from one virtual meeting to another. So please, stay tuned for our Masonic Education for the month of June. I am sure it will be very engaging and cause some discussion on the various topics related to the Companion Adept of the Temple Program.
If you have never attended a Grand Session before, these meetings are always interesting. We get to see other Knights from the surrounding areas, share ideas, and maybe purchase a little masonic memento for keepsake or for a gift for a worthy brother.
By attending, we remain visible to our Grand Commandery and participate in voting on the various legislations that affect our organization. Getting involved is how we mold the future of this Commandery.
I hope to see many of you on the call. We are there to help our fellow weary pilgrims traveling from afar. To join with those who have come this far. And join in with our fellow knights at this Holy Sepulchre.
Humbly yours,
Luis J. Montero
Commander
FROM COUNCIL No. 1
Salutations, Companions.
June is here, and as spring is a new beginning so are we upon a new beginning as to how we come together as a Council.
The Governor is on track to remove many of the restrictions we have faced in how we are able to be among one another as Companions.
The Grand Master of Masons of California has issued updated guidance in regards to what conditions must be satisfied for in-person meetings.
We will remain bound by state, county, and state guidelines but we are on track to meet in person for our next Council meeting.
Officers, please refresh yourself on the work and I look forward to seeing you all.
Be Happy, Healthy, and Well until we meet again.
Sincerely,
Joseph Wallach
Illustrious Master
FROM CHAPTER No. 3
Greetings, Companions.
As presented by Illustrious Master Joe Wallach (above), all eyes seem to be directed toward the date of June 15th and the highly anticipated full reopening of the Masonic Temple without restrictions from Sacramento County.
For now, our planning for the upcoming Stated Convocation remains as done for the past 15 months. On Saturday, June 12th, we will meet at our Virtual Tiled Stated Convocation on Zoom at 9:00 AM.

As part of our plans for reopening, we have been contemplating the possibility of hosting a combined practice session for our Chapter and Council on Monday, July 5th - even though it is a holiday - in preparation for the Special Convocation and Stated Assembly currently scheduled for Saturday, July 10th.
We will keep you posted.
If everything goes as expected on June 15th, the July 10th meetings will be our very first in-person gatherings of the year!
Breakfast at 8:00 AM in the Club Room.
Meetings starting at 9:00 AM in Lodge Room 2.
(I hope my red coat still fits...)
I would like to use this opportunity to share a particularly important moment of my Masonic Life with you.
On May 22nd, I was installed as a Grand Officer of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons.
It is an incredible honor to serve as Grand Marshal of the North under the leadership of Grand High Priest Raymond Broomfield for the 2021-2022 term.
On the same day, to my absolute amazement, I also received a High Priest of the Year Award.
Royal Arch Masonry is a great passion of mine and I have been blessed with the honor of serving for two years as your High Priest, and I am just very thankful and thrilled that I will be able to open the doors of our Chapter to receive all of you with open arms and a big smile on July 10th.
Please mark your calendar. It is going to be a historic reunion!
Until then, please stay healthy and safe. We shall meet in person again soon.
Francisco Marques
High Priest

Freemasonry: Royal Arch (The Spiritual Freemasonry Series)
by Christopher Earnshaw PhD 33°
After the spiritual awakening following the Transmission of Light in the First Degree, the stimulation of the “dew” that animates the soul in the Second Degree, followed by the “Dark Night of the Soul” and the mystic resurrection in the Third Degree, the Mason is now perfected.
However, without understanding the 25th Signpost, he is without a guide: “The Grand Master is dead, the Temple is not complete, and we have not found the Lost Word.”
Like the Royal Arch Degree, this book completes the journey, and understanding the symbolism of the Third Degree completes this remarkable transformation.
• What was thought to be so important about the Royal Arch Degree that it is included in the Blue Lodge as a Chapter, as well as both the Scottish and York Rites?
• What the various hints (Signposts) in the preceding three degrees were pointing to, and an explanation of the import of the Twenty-fifth Signpost.
• How this degree categorically refutes any notion of the soul dying after death.
• Why Freemasonry may hold the secret teaching that religions around the world, including the Abrahamic faiths, have either not found, or do not want the faithful to know.
• Why Trinitarianism was thought to be so essential to Christianity that it was enshrined in law, and how Freemasonry’s rituals complete this doctrine.
• How the Third Degree completes the Mason’s journey with a life-changing experience.
This book answers these questions and many more!
