September 2025

FROM COMMANDERY No. 2
Sir Knights,
Without a shared understanding, future-orientedness, purpose and direction, and a stable compass of our moral principles among ourselves, the clear vision we once had will break apart and shift to many directions, and our ability to respond to our unique creative ways and the development of the inspiration that unites each of us is lost. A slight deviation naturally does occur over time, however, to prevent the wandering loss of our purpose and vision, it is essential to remind ourselves who we our, why we are here, and where we are going.

FROM COUNCIL No. 1
Companions,
It is already September, which means that we are only one month away from our first annual Jamaican Night Fundraiser on Friday, October 10, 2025! I cannot wait to chow down on the Jamaican pasta and jerk chicken with live music from The Cantaliers, sure to entertain as well. Silent auction items are still needed. Please contact Companion Dave Cobb to RSVP and donate any items for the action. Being that this is the first fundraiser for the Sacramento York Rite, I am counting on you all to make this a great success! Nowhere else in the greater Sacramento area can you get dinner and a live show for only $15! I look forward to seeing each and everyone one of you there. It’s going to be a fun night. A brother of mine used to say, “Are we having fun yet?” I can say without a doubt: Yes, we are absolutely going to have fun at the Jamaican Night.
Do not forget that our next Assembly is on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Fraternally,
Andrew P. Grajeda
Illustrious Master

FROM CHAPTER No. 3
Greetings Companions,
Have you noticed we are having a milder than usual Summer? Fine with me, I’ll take it. It won’t be long and Fall will be upon us; that’s my favorite time of the year. Well that’s the end of the small talk.
Saturday, August 2 was the 3-Way Reception Breakfast in Woodland, and in my opinion, it was the best I attended. It was a beautiful morning and you could feel the energy and fellowship. The breakfast was great and it was followed by reports on what the Leaders of the three bodies are working on for this year. If you have a chance to attend a 3-Way or 4-Way Reception you should try.
September 20, October 4, and October 18 will be the 56th Annual Pilgrimage into York Rite at the Alameda Masonic Hall. They will confer both Degrees and the one Order. John McCoy and I are forming a group to travel there and represent Sacramento York Rite. We have 5 candidates going with us so far. If you know of someone who is interested in York Rite and/or you would like to join us, let John or me know. It would be great for Sacramento have a strong presence. There is still time to get applications in.
As we all know October 10 is our Jamaica Night and Pasta Feed. We are receiving RSVPs now, so please get your RSVP in ASAP, along with how many in your party. We need an accurate headcount so we buy the supplies needed. This is not only a great family event, it is also a great night out with your neighbors and friends. Where else can you get a Jamaican Dinner, Live Music, and a Silent Auction for only $15.00, and kids under 12 are only $5. The Band is the Cantaliers, and our Illustrious Master, Andrew Grajeda, is the drummer. You may have seen them before, as they have played a few times at Scottish Rite. Our Chef is Carl Harrison. He is one of our Candidates going to Alameda. He honed his skills as a Chef in the Air Force. The big Money Maker will be the Silent Auction, so we really need donated items to auction. With all the extra expenses we have had from the problems the Temple had to rectify; we need to fortify our Bank Account. Support this and donate what you can. I have added a list of suggestions for items to donate.
